Ventilation

Here's the other item that people have looked at me strangely over. Both the 911 and 968 have poor ventilation, and I wasn't going to Rad (with leaf!)skimp on the Boxster. And am I glad! The air con really is what the marketing men would call climate control. I just hit the auto button and this system really does work. I am in comfort with warm feet and fresh, dry air at head level. The "sun sensor" seems to work well. The sun came out today (at last) and I immediately got a cool flow onto my face! If I had to niggle at anything, it would be that in "auto" it blows a little too strongly when the engine is stone cold (it does blow harder as the engine warms up, though). I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you're tired of all that suffering in a 968 or all those amusing random hot and cold draughts in a 911. And if you think it's slightly strange having air con in a convertible, think of me in the south of France this summer, baking in the midday sun whilst stuck in the traffic on the coast road. 12 seconds of button pressing and motor whirring later; I'm a happy man.
