Xenons (apparently) suffer quite badly from light scatter if the lenses aren't clean.
And due to the brightness of them, could then easily blind oncoming drivers.
Same applies to the self leveling system.
Whereas in a non Xenon car, if you put 5 bags of cement in the boot and forget to twiddle the knob, it will be a pain, with Xenons it would be a
real pain.
So they have to have an automatic system so you can't forget to do it.
