As I have said previously skoda's are boring. But, what I mean is that there appearance is boring, I have a skoda fabia and it is a fantastic little car, especially good for the city etc. Having said that though, the interior is boring and dull and lacking any desire to welcome you to the cabin. I also looked at replacing my present car with another fabia but our ideas changed and what we wanted a car for changed and we looked at several cars and came down to three: Toyota RAV4, Nissan Quashqai and the Civic. I too don't like the silver sprayed stuff but have you seen the fake wood thing they do in the accord? However, when you come to value for money i.e. the amount you get for what you pay, the civic is fantastic value even with the silver sprayed stuff.

Whilst I understand your liking of the octavia and it is a fantastic car but in comparision to the civic it is poles apart. One big reason I didn't buy the octavia is because over here it is used as a company car and there are loads of them on the roads.

In the end it came down to the Quashqai and the Civic and the quashqai just couldn't beat the civic on value of equipment and style, the rav4 was rejected on running costs.

If you want a stylish car both inside and out then the civic is the only car to go for at the present moment. The octavia is a good car, with a good pedigree now and would serve you well, although you would be accepting a boring looking car.
