No need to clay it but use a pre wax treatment and then Turtle Wax Gloss Guard (Paint sealer) its fantastic stuff!!!, leave a couple of hours, then a good wax on top.
I use Swissol Onyx, latterly Collonite Double Wax. Should last 3 months depending on the wax quality.
