the manual (page 266 on) refers to setting the clock for cars 'with audio system' (use buttons 1,2 & 3 on the radio) and 'without audio system' (use buttons under the clock).

However, with the possible exception of the (quite possibly imaginary!) original 'S' spec (not Type S, just S), all Civs have an audio system of one sort or another, so not sure whats going on there...
