Thanks to Matt I now have it sorted.... Hold down stereo power button (stereo must be on ) for 2 secs,..then press button 6 this gives you the option for 12 or 24 hour clock, select the one you want, and away you go... This is also detailed on page 215 of the Type S manual .. I still dont know why they put this function on the stereo button and not on the Clock button, but there you go ,,..
