I'm planning on keeping my 2014 Civic for at least 5 more years, so I'm also prepared to wait for the 11G. But you never know what's around the corner.

I'd need to do proper research, but it's hard to find a hatchback that has the quality and reliability of a Civic. You'd think a natural choice would be a Lexus CT, but most reviews say it's devoid of any driving pleasure. Mazda 3? Volvo V40 has the quality, but the reliability? Not really sure at this point...

I must admit that I thought that I was not going to like the 10g, but on seeing it the metal it is a very handsome car and sufficiently different from the usual suspects.
I think I'll have one when my current 8g dies.

At the time I found myself earning enough cash to replace my trusty Fiat Tipo diesel, I was persuaded to stay with it : firstly the 45 miles a day travelling would soon rack up the miles on a nice shiny nearly new car, and secondly the longer I kept it the longer I was holding back the inevitable £1000's a year depreciation experienced with the above nearly new car.

An old saying, if it's not broke do'nt fix it-then again, if a really good deal comes along...... !

Quite like the look of the HRV, also the petrol version appears pretty economical.

What are you going to buy if not the 10G

If I end up not liking the 10G hatch in person and a test drive, I would either get the Golf 7.5 TSI 110 petrol DSG Trendline or Skoda Rapid Spaceback hatch (Monte Carlo version) 1.4 petrol DSG

The 9G Honda Connect woke me up to the fact that my current 9G doesn't need changing because it's only got 16k on the clock and only rising by 2k - 3k a year.

Following on, do I need a bigger car with CVT and the Connect unit that gets bad press and user reviews - no.

On my list, at the moment, is a Mazda 3 and upcoming 2018 1 series. Both of which have torque converter auto gearboxes and the Satnav is on top of the dash.

The new cr-v will be launched here in a year's time. It's had cracking reviews in the US where it's just been launched... and our versions are normally better spec'd than the US ones. It has same tech and gadgets as the 10g civic.

This will be my next Honda

I quite fancy a 1 series but going to keep my civic a few years yet. I want the following

Good looking
Fast
Cheap to buy and run
Reliable

Which is all impossible!

I'd have said you civic were all those things already! I briefly considered a 3 series but from what I can see the reliability is poor, and putting things right when they do go wrong is very expensive.

I'll probably keep my 8g civic unless the 10g is exceptionally good to drive.

Yeah I am happy with what I have know. I was always under the impression that German was the king of reliability but I'm not so sure. I am getting the itch for a change but it only lasts half hour on auto trader then subsides but always comes back a week or two later!!

3 series I would go for over 1 series yes but I wouldn't spend that sort of money

I know, it's getting a regular thing! I never considered a Lexus until I had a further look into yours! Gonna stick it out with the civic (for the time being, until the itch turns into a scratch), it's the best car I've ever had

Doh, sorry that I'm partially the cause of your itch.

The Civic is a great car, I miss mine a smidge but still have that new-to-me car loooove for my big L.
