New car ordered

Ordered a Rallye Red 1.0 SR manual, should be here sometime in May.
Have test driven a few now, seriously impressed by it.

Altough it's probably a very good engine, it's too small for my liking. It's also step down from te 140bhp 1.8 vtec, except for the additional torque from the turbo.

Will see how I get on with it, there are additional benefits for myself such as the ride quality and the larger footprint.

I managed to get a look at a black 1.5 (prestige?) 10G civic when I went to the dealer for some brake fluid, and I have to say it looks like Honda have actually thought things though with this one, the interior looks good, the sporty leather seats are just as good as those you'd find in any German sporty hatch and it actually looks quite good in the flesh too. Nice to hear that Honda have finally realised the value of proper suspension aswell over magic seats, which I have only used a few times during ownership. It is way too big though, they shouldn't advertise it as a hatchback, its accord size now.

Hope it proves to be just what you wanted, desired and expected. I did like the interior of the 1.5 sport plus I peered into at show room. Also in Rallye red. But I made my bed and so must lie

My local dealer was very keen for me to end my current PCP 9 months early on my 9G so I took advantage of the £2,150 they offered towards the deposit and ordered a Rallye Red 1.0 SR CVT at the weekend and I get it this Friday 31st! That's what I call quick. Apparently they had 167 of those ready to go at Swindon. Having test driven one, the ride is a revelation, so comfortable, and in terms of overall refinement, it's no less refined than any other car I've been in or owned including Mercs and BMWs. However, the first thing I will be doing is turning off all that ridiculous "safety" nonsense! After 30 years of driving I'm perfectly capable of keeping my car in its lane on the motor way, reading a traffic sign and putting my foot on the break if there is something in front of me. That hideous auto stop start system will also be turned off every time just a shame you can't permanently disable it!

Good luck with your new car, very nice indeed.
With ending the PCP early was there any financial implication for you? Did you have to find a deposit to put in?

Just be careful switching all safety devices off, your insurance may take into account that they are on, and should you have a accident that the devices could or would of avoided ...........

Yes, I did have to put some deposit down, but I look at it like this, I would have had to do this in December anyway, and then I would have been looking at 4 or 5K deposit for new Civic. This way my current Civic cleared the outstanding PCP plus some equity, so that went in with the £2,150 from Honda, so I only had to put in and extra 2K. So I see it that I've got a brand new car for 2K and only slightly higher monthly payments.
