What do winter wheels look like? Do you have to remove your really nice alloys or do you just put new tyres on?

Here's a picture of an unstudded wintertyre:

Are winter tyres different to summer tyres?

Oh, nearly forgot, yes I have to remove my summer alloys and stowe them away for the winter. (complete wheels)
I will use the original (summer) alloys as winterwheels by removing the standard tyres and put on unstudded winter tyres instead! Hopefully I am picking them up tomorrow.....
