Not so much fun in a Type r though (on second thoughts its always fun in type r ). I've never driven it in snow but the wide low profile tyres don't grip so well as ordinary tyres on very wet or icy roads.

Yes, I guess some people find the frequent wheel changes a bit annoying and a pain. What I do know for sure, is that many people are reluctant of carry out this kind of job themselves. (just the switch over on the car, not on the alloys) Normally I do the job myself, with a garage jack it takes half an hour or so.
Wheels are heavy too, so many feels it very hard dragging them in and out of the car and off to the local tyre shop/dealer. And of course, two sets of complete wheels are not exactly cheap.
You are welcome to Norway anytime, and bring along your Type-R.....
the cruise ferry sails between Newcastle upon Tyne and Bergen twice a week.

You'r right abt the low profile tyres, when the driving conditions are difficult they can easily get dangerous!
