Heat from the bulbs?

I also made a pair of perspex covers for the fogs and before I fixed them decided to heat test using a high intensity bulb at circa the same distance as in use on the car and it resulted in bubbling in the plastic. Now this might not be an issue as the ambient temperature on the car , in motion, would be much lower than on my bench --but, I am going to step the perspex out a bit to allow a bit of air to circulate between the foglight lens and the perspex just in case.
Also the heat caused the adhesive on the x2 side tape to melt and allowed a bit of slip which could lose the perspex "In action" ---Will experiment with heatproof glue dots which can also be removed without too much trauma to the surrounds.
