As for how it affects visibility, it's hard for me to say as they'd fitted mine when I went to collect the car so I've never driven without it. I'd guess that it would take some getting used to if you've driven without one, but at least one of the bars aligns with the mid-window spoiler anyway, or at least it does from my height. To be honest, I tend to bemoan the water on the rear window affecting my visibility rather than the dog guard! When the window's clear, I have no problems seeing through it.
I know the price is steep, and it made me squeal when I heard, but we all know the boot shape/size/space above the rear seats is fairly unique in the Civ, so there was no other option for me. I have to say it's very well made, very sturdy and strong, and not like anything else I saw on the market before I splashed the cash!

do the seats still fold up and down with the dog guard in place as i don't want to keep taking it out when i need to fold the seats down.
