I don't know.
The fact that the car had just been to the dealers, and the screw was a self-tapping screw often found in workshops, I convinced them the screw was from them, and that they needed to replace my tyre and kit.

I have spoken to a couple of garages, and I have got mixed responses. it seems that some will and some won't, it's just down to luck.
