Thumbs up Uprated Dipped,Main and Side on FN2 CTR. Done!

Thought I'd post my success in changing Dipped, Main and Sidelights on my FN2 CTR GT this morning.

Piece of cake - took no more than 20 minutes start to finish.

I chose Osram Nightbreakers for both dipped and main beam and some "freebie" sidelight bulbs, which I'll keep an eye on in terms of brightness/length of service etc.

Main+sidelights first (H1's and 501's) easy to get to on both sides - Honda's retaining clip style is new to me, but ingenious as it doesn't require pressure in from both sides of the spring clip to seat it, good news for tight spaces and big sausage fingers like mine!

Dipped (H7's) next - Driver's side piece of cake.

For the Passenger side, I undid the two 10mm nuts on the battery retaining clamp and unhooked the bottom ends of the rods and swung the clamp out of the way. Slid the battery back as far as it would go. Plenty of room to do the dipped beam bulb now.

All tested and working fine.

I'll try and get some 50M/100M distance pics of the new bulbs with a 5MP camera and post if anyone is vaguely interested.

Why did I go for the Osrams? Well, the long and short of it was price. They came out after the Philips E-xtreme +80%'s and are claimed at having +90% more light at a given distance (50ft or 50m, can't remember) than standard bulbs. Can't wait to test them tonight
