The Ford Focus was the first of its kind when released back in 1998, it was created as much enthusiasm as the civic I should know I bought one and people came up to me all the time asking if they could take peep inside etc, no teething problems for a new design I had it 7 years it went back to the dealership for service only and two recalls in the beginning which didnt affect my car and were minor.
The dealers were great friendly and helpful and as for heavy depreciation I got £3k for it trade in when it was 7years old.
I enquired in january about my trading in my civic I was being offered ridiculous amounts for it as low as £10k from Vauxhall and only £11k from Honda and that was when it was 7 months old !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I paid £15,500 for it so how is that for depreciation?
I had an escort before the Focus for years and surpirse surprise it never ever let me down or went wrong I only traded that in because I inherited some money and could afford the new Focus.
