You need to almost take the arm thingy out and drop it from that height, its rubbish. I hate dropping bonnets, always worried lights will fall out (I used to drive French remember), so I started off a couple of inches up, nothing, higher, nothing, higher, still nothing. Higher? Lifted bonnet, shut eyes and let go, closed, yeah! But a little worrying at the time.
