In much the same way a tradesman carries his tools in something similar rather than a shopping bag or a cardboard box, this is for the same purpose in the back of the car or if you go round family/friends doing theirs for beer tokens.

Now, if all you ever do is leave your stuff in the understairs cupboard or the garage/shed, then it's fairly evident this is of no interest to YOU.
Therefore, there's no point in even replying to comment on its price or whatever else - so why bother, unless you get some perverse pleasure in being negative and/or antagonistic?

Unless it's just me, if this item was of no interest to me for whatever reason, then it wouldn't cross my mind to post in the thread, never mind making a remark on the price.
