On the Type S, the hook is spring loaded. You just have to pull the hook far enough back to release the seat leg.
Just remember, when you put the seat back down, you have to manually pull the hook back again so that you can secure the seat leg.
It is a pointless and stupid bit of design. Why make the seats NEARLY magic.
