Having come from a line of Audis (A3, A4, TT), I would agree - the Civic, whilst fantastic looking

, isn't quite on a par in terms of 'gloss'
However, this is becuase the money was simply spent elsewhere - and
for me it was spent on bits that matter more
Base price of a 2.2 SE Civic - £16,167
Base price of a 2.0 A3 (140bhp) - £17,590
once you start clicking option boxes, the difference gets bigger...
A3 2.0 specced to equivalent EX standard - well. I added:
Red paint £0
rear parking sensors £260
Front fogs £130
Electric folding mirrors £120
18" wheels £1,700
rear centre armrest £125
climate control (not dual zone) £1,100
Front centre armrest £95
illuminated vanity mirrors £55
multi function steering wheel £320
Xenon (plus) £675
Auto lights / wipers £190
Cruise control £240
Sat Nav £1,100
Mobile phone kit (not bluetooth) £385
total price £24,100
Civic EX £18,467
So for about £6,000 less, I'm
personally happy to live with a bit less 'gloss'
But I would agree that the A3 is, in general, a nice car to be in
