In fairness TTDegs, the standard EX doesnt have parking sensors or 18" wheels, so it's actually more like a 4k difference (granted, I wouldnt have the civ without either of those options but they cost a similar amount, maybe 500 quid less)
I'd also chip in that my main alternative to the civ was the A3 but I couldn't find one I loved as much for the same price. Plus the audi was more expensive to insure.
I'm pretty happy with my choice
