I have just picked up my letter. Not happy as like others I have had to queue for 20 minutes wondering what the heck it was!!!!!
I am very concerned with the fact that Honda have advised everyone to suddenly start putting on the hand brake in a way everyone was told NOT to when learning to drive.
I was told that if you put on the hand brake without pressing the button then the notches get worn away, making the handbrake more susceptible to slipping!!!!! I have ALWAYS pressed the button in to apply the handbrake on every make and model of car I have driven.
For Honda to suddenly re write the rule book is disgusting. I will never remember to not press the button in, as cannot stop years of doing it!
I know there are many people who do apply the handbrake without pressing the button, but I am sure there are many like me who use the correct method.
Another thing that I am miffed about it how long it has taken for Honda to acknowledge this, as I have seen many posts on here months ago about people having their car roll down the hill due to a handbrake failing.
I only hope them people are able to claim compensation from Honda now for the damage done, and not have their Insurance Premiums affected.
I am interested to see if the "new" handbrake in March / April 08 allows the driver to be able to press the button when applying the handbrake.
