On page 333 there are some tips for parking on slopes, including putting the car into opposite gear for the direction faced.

Funny, the advice is on page 173 of my copy of the owner's manual. Never mind. Yes, I see your point Brodick, but I think there is only an inference one does not depress the release button as per the owner's manual, it does not state it categorically, whereas the latest advice, on the enclosed card and highlighted with a green tick, now includes the words, "without pressing or touching the release button".

I think the latest advice has clarified beyond any doubt how the handbrake should be applied pending the recall and thereby avoids any ambiguity.

I'm sure we will all comply (if we remember after all these years......)
