I spoke to my dealer about this problem the day i picked up my car and he honestly said that they had had no problems reported to them about the handbrake over the last 2 years. It maybe because a lot of poles don't use the handbrake and simply leave it in gear, as I do now.

Let's see if I get a letter from Honda about it.
