Easy
1 Mile = 1.609344 Km
1 Imp Gallon = 4.54609 Liter
So 1 MPG is roughly 1.61/4.55 = 0.35 Km/L (really 0.354006)
Other way around
1 Km/L is roughly 2.82 MPG (really 2.824809)
These are coarse factors, but usable for a quick calculation.
