That's one of the drawbacks of today's modern cars, so much stuff goes in in terms of security equipment and electronics that the designer has to cut weight (and cost) with suond insulation. More of it will make the car quieter, no doubt, however you have to be careful what you put where, otherwise the risk of fire, or corrosion, is not negligible
