Probably sounds like a basic concept to most but it has taken me a while to learn that 4th and 5th gear are only really needed for rash overtaking on the motorway....

After a further 60 miles the MPG is down at 34.8
The M77 in Scotland has a lot to answer for, at the edge of Glasgow and at it's lowest point it is raining, you climb to the top of the M77 (1 mile) and it's snowing, must take some amount of fuel to do it at 80
