I went to my dealer to buy a spacesaver and was recommended not to bother, just call Honda Assist and say you refuse to drive on a 'gunked' tyre. Either a mobile fitter will be called, or they will take the car to a tyre place. Sods law it will only happen when the boot is full and there will then be nowhere to put the full size wheel!!!

As regards the foam - general concensus is don't put the foam in and pump the tyre using the std compressor evry 10 mins to get to nearest outlet. If the hole is too big and goes down quicker than 5 mins, the foam won't hold it anyway.
