I am afraid I have to agree with Robbo51 here, Skoda are fantastic cars, practical, well built and feel more expensive than they are. In which case the average person who buys one is getting a damn good deal and therefore is amazed at the quality they got for do little. In my opinion there are badge snobs who would never buy a Skoda because of it's history. Ford are cheap to buy and cheap to maintain - many people have them as company cars too! Again, as has been said, Ford is really making good cars now and that is because of the likes of Skoda, Seat, Honda, Toyota etc increasing the quality of their cars and putting pressure on the mass producers to increase their quality, and it is working. The new mondeo is a prime example.

Of course people are loyal to brands for many reasons but most of all it is there experience of the brand and everything connected to it - dealer, customer service and so on. Although in reality some people never experience a bad car with a particular brand and therefore have no reason to complain.
