I received the honda key I bought off ebay today, opened it up to compare it to the insides of my friends civic key. Although they were identical on the outside, they were different on the inside. On the civic key there was no obvious immobiliser chip

. Is it possible that the immobiliser is part of the alarm system and therefore doesn't have one in the key? The key I got off ebay must be off a Jazz or something similar, this one quite clearly had a immobiliser chip sitting in it!

If there is no chip in the civic key then that makes the job even easier.

My mates spare key has now been donated to the cause and is off to China tomorrow and will hopefully come back as the first Bentley style Honda key.

Hopefully this time next week I should have my civic
