I haven't got my Civic yet, but I'm sure it doesn't have iso-fittings. You'd know what they are, because their like two lots of small square shaped holes, each as wide as the tip of a finger, at the base of the seat. The car seat usually has an "ISO-FIX" label attached to the seat, so people who aren't too familiar with the fittings know what they are.
An iso-fix child seat fittings then slot into the holes and something inside the main seat holds the child seat in place. With a normal child seat, you have to use the seat belt to hold the child seat secure.
With a Civic, if you have an iso-fix child seat, it'll need to be belted into place - which is perfectly safe (no defects with the seat belts yet...right guys???
