not done it with the Garmin, but had something which I guess was similar for my TomTom

I would most definately NOT go with the shiney disc!
That just feels like a receipe for disaster when you want to remove it...

The sucker on the window does work well - I think someone (Pottsy?) uses similar for their GPS camera thing.

For me, it depends where you put it, and how long the arm is.

Pottsy's (if indeed it was him) looked nice and tidy.

His unit ends up where my snooper is - which is not where you are suggesting...

He went (and I followed!) for mounting it to the Right of the speedo

This is nicely in line of sight, and also allows for easy routing of power cables to be tucked out of sight.


I actually had a bracket on the back of the snooper, originally designed to stick it directly to the windscreen with no 'arm'
I removed the 2 suction pads, bent the bracket to a right angle, and gently pushed it into the gap in the dash trim.
