I have a nuvi 350, excellent piece of kit.
I have attached a picture of mine in position to the right of the windscreen. You can take the mount on and off, but I prefer to leave mine on all the time for ease of use.
I have found that it helps to fix the mount whilst the car is warm and/or the weather is warm. This appears to create a better seal.
I have tucked the cable down the door jamb and under the dash, holding it with some cable grips from B&Q and cable ties. I use an extension lead for the power which is tucked down by the drivers seat runner and well out of the way of my knee and leg.
