What I'm trying to find out is whether these cars are on the whole a reliable vehicle and is it that just bad news gets reported by users, or are there a sizeable number of quality issues which are far greater than most models. I need to be able to get in the car and drive it without wondering whether it will start today. If I don't get to work, I don't get paid, simple as that.
Have any users out there who have bought more recent models also experienced the same sorts of problems or do they seem to be more related to the cars built in the first year? Will the Civic be as reliable as my last two cars, one of which was French and never missed a beat in 75,000 miles!!

Had my beauty since last May and it has been wonderful. Not one problem and the usual superb Honda reliability that I have always experienced.
I think the main problems that have been experienced are mainly by the earlier cars as I`m afraid is normally the case with any make. The moral I learned many cars ago was never buy a new model for at least a year into production giving time for the bugs to be ironed out.
If you want to enjoy motoring again then join the spaceship club and you will love your Civic
Good luck and enjoy it
