The transponder module is situated too far away from the ignition switch to disable the immobiliser. If you hold the original key alongside the flip key housing the module is approx 1" further away than it would be with the original key.
I hope that those chinese who are making the ones for XCGUARD have taken this into account and made the transponder module nearer the acual key - if that is atall possible.
Apologies to anyone who has gone to ebay for one - I shall be contacting seller to explain that for UK Honda Civics this item is useless.

Ouch, is it not possible to turn the casing around inside the key, or would that make it even further away?
The New year holiday has now started there, so won't speak to them for a week. I will email them and hopefully they will take this into account and adjust the design.
