I mentioned this to my Service Manager when my car got it's first service this year.
After 20 minutes of denial that there is a problem with the paint, also stating that you'd be lucky to get a bodyshop to match the quality of Honda's paint (I asked if this was to equal the poor quality but he didn't respond), he told me that Honda do not include stonechips under their paintwork warranty.
He also topped this off by going back on his previous statement that Honda would warrant a repair if it was undeniable due to duff paint, by detailing a case where he had a bonnet that was covered in scratches (with none on the windscreen - which is the gauge of how soft your paint is apparently. If it scratches your windscreen it will scratch your paint. Well duh! What about the ones that don't leave marks on your windscreen?) Honda sent out an inspector and knocked it back as it was stonechips not soft paint. The Dealers went ahead and did the respray work gratis cos they thought
HUK were wrong.
Hey maybe Honda will solve this problem, as their new adverts state how they love problems and thrive on finding ingenious solutions?
Probably not though as they have yet to recognise that their paint has a problem.
