I recently changed from a C class Merc to the Type S and my two kids get in the back easier than they did in the 4 door!

Also the wife sometimes travels in the back between the kiddies and she has also said there is more room than the Merc and is easier to get in and out of.

So from my point of view I'd say there is no problem at all.

The only draw back I can see is if you / your passengers have limited mobility then it may be a little more difficult to access the rear.
