Once had this, yes, but in an old Fiat, >20 years ago (and it was my fault I was pulling a way too heavy caravan through Greece)

:edit) if the service says nothing wrong, maybe it isn't that bad? The smell could come from rubber (tyres) and the "lameness" from the ESP (?)
