The engine is designed to be thrashed, but thats a complete load of nonsense that its not good to drive between 3000-4000rpm! Your 'friend' doesn't happen to own a petrol station by any chance
I'd love to see what the police would have to say if they stopped someone for speeding in say a 30mph limit, unless of course you had it in 2nd/3rd gear. '
