Unfortunatly German build quality has gone down hill too, at least for some manufacturers, which is why I did not buy an A-class...
But I know what you mean, my old 92 Merc still feel more solid than the Civic. But it uses twice the ammount of petrol.

Hi FWH,
I installed Dynamat into my front doors to improve the speaker sound quality once I had replaced them.
But they made a dramatic difference to the sound quality of the front doors themselves, when closed they sound far more solid and shut with a thud and not a clunk.
Even the outer door handles when operated sound solid as the noise does not ricochet round the doors.I really was impressed and would have fitted it for that alone if I had know the difference it made.
Back doors next when I replace the cheap crappy speakers in the back door.
