I am slightly surprised by your reaction to this incident Pottsy, I would have thought a little more support would have been in order to your colleagues.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation, and how the crew handled it, I expect that at the time, they
thought they were doing the right thing.
As somebody who also responsible for the lives of hundreds of people whilst at work, I and my colleagues never go out of our way to do something dangerous. But, as humans, we all make mistakes, misjudgements and have just plain forgetfulness moments. Unfortunately, the technology can only cover us so far, then it is down to your training and experience.
