Hi, 1st post! Looking to get a 2.2 CDTi S (well thats what they listed it as) for a company car, just waiting on approval as its a step up from my old Pootreon C4 1.6HDi 90 and costs a fair chunk more. Anyway, I have to agree that if you switch from petrol to diesel and vice versa you need to change your driving style, I have had diesel for around 5 years now and have driven similar spec cars by the petrol variant and found then to be terrible. Even down to on the same day driving a Golf TDi GT and a VR6 (leathers etc very nice car) and being absolutley disgusted withthe economey and driving style of the VR6. I love diesel, especially now they are more refined then say 5 or 10 years ago. The power delivery and troque are just great, witht e bigger diesels you benefit from having slightly more upper GO then a smaller diesel engine which runs out of puff top end. I also do alot of motorway driving, so diesel wins! Back to driving styles, I had a 1.4 206 for a week when my car was being repaired (vandalised) and hated it, terrible on fuel, revvy, powerless. The second I got back in my C4 .... wow, solid, firm clutch, more grunt, acceleration, smoother drive. That said I owner a 3.0 Carlton GSi 24v once, but thats a different kind of petrol engine.
