The smart has a really complex (and virtually impossible to disable) TRUST/TRUST+ stability system. The car will not let you go round a roundabout fast enough to roll. I owned the car 3 years and moddified it plenty.

My City coupe had around 95/100bhp and was plenty brisk enough, but still wouldn't roll over on a roundabout. Should you attempt it the TRUST+ would kick in an control the car by cutting throttle, activating traction control & applying brakes as required. Rolling a standard car would be even harder.
Comments like that show you know nothing about the subject matter and I severely doubt you have seen "smart cars" (implying more than one) on their side "because they have tried to take a roundabout to fast". Total BS.

My roadster was putting out north of 100bhp and far faster in a straight line than my 1.8ltr Civic. On a twisty road the Civic would not know which way the Roadster went.
Saying that, putting a bike engine in a City coupe is kinda silly. Putting a bike engine in a Roadster on the other hand.... WOW.

A firend of mine did this (Paul Holmes at Smarts-R-Us) and it is totally insane. The car is so light and sure footed that the extra power really comes to the fore. 0-60 was estimated at 5seconds and I could well beleive it was faster still. Bit loud though... ok, more than a bit, it was silly. Not sure of his choice of colour for the car, but they were trying out new paint shades and needed a good demo...
Im not going to get into a peeing contest here But I believe an accusation of talking BS should not go unanswered.

1) sorry if I caused some offence to you through my statement, but that still doesnt make my statement BS.

2) I have personnaly seen two smart cars on there sides. One at a roundabout, ok my assumption that "they have tried to take a roundabout to fast" but no other car was involved in the incident. The second was one of my workmates car, yes he is an idiot of a driver, but he still went into the roundabout to fast and it ended with him in hospital because the idiot wasnt wearing his seatbelt.

3) "Comments like that show you know nothing about the subject matter" I strongly beg to differ, however I did say I wasnt getting into a peeing contest so I'll leave it at that. Except to say that given the right conditions (or the right idiot behind the wheel) almost any car can be rolled no matter what electronics it has onboard.

I have heard driving the roadster is like going gokarting (you turn the wheel and it goes that way), sounds good, but Im affraid I'll never be convinced about the small one, I just dont like the idea of raging a car thats taller than it is wide (ok its only by 34mm but still ).
