It was a 1.9 120bhp Megane. Claimed combined MPG - 52 I think. Achieved 47MPG.
Civic claimed combined MPG 53 (from memory) - achieved 40MPG.
I would expect a modern diesel to be achieving 50+ (my colleague has a BMW 3 series and gets 51MPG and drives 80-90mph)
