Here's something I found that relates to the old EP3 Type R. This is a quote from EVO regarding the paint quality on their test car from 2002
" We attributed the badly chipped paintwork of our
CTR to the amount of time it spent close behind other cars, in range of flicked-up gravel, during the course of photography. But no. Just about every piece of
CTR correspondence we received mentioned bad stone chipping, even on the roof-mounted rear spoiler. Some owners had bits resprayed, and several mentioned that their cars had poorly made and ill-fitting bodykit parts replaced under warranty."
