Wow, all cars have issues, my Smart had loads others still love them, my Focus had none others kick off all the time. VW have big issues with that platform regards electronics, a number of VW dealers have a backlog of owners with 2007 TDi cars without transport because the fuel pumps have gone pop. Yet yours appears fantastic (hope it stays that way as I'm not aware of VW dealer on the moral high ground).
My Civic has been fine though I have only had it three weeks. I think you will enjoy life more if you accept you are happy with your car and others are happy with theirs. Regards other peoples opinions so what. The US love the Jetta, is that a positive or negative?
You may want to update Wiki.com as it makes no mention of the Jetta being made in Germany. It suggests they are made in Mexico and shipped out in kit form to various plants around the world (but not Germany).
