Hi Alanwaln,
You miss the point of the Jetta windsrceen fluid bottle location. It acts as an automatic sprinkler system in the event of a fire. Yes mine is a diesel and I am assured that a diesel fire is much more economical compared to petrol, unless Darling Alistair slaps a tax on under-bonnet fires -carbon footprints and all that!
