This says to me that the handbrake is faulty otherwise they would not be changing it!
Was the button pressed? What are buttons for?! A letter is not enough to guarantee that every person that ever drives a Civic is aware of their "advice".

Or have they said enough to mitigate the risk by advising how to use the handbrake? Not withstanding this, I'm sure we all stand by Rumblefish and hope he gets it sorted without hassel...
