Yesterday, I succesfully installed on my own, the original type R rear spoiler to my poor type S!!
So, in this post i present you my way of installing the spoiler and some pics.
( sorry but the car was very dirty and i used my mobilephone to get the photos, so don't search for high quality and super photos!!! )
What I needed (tools, materials etc) :
How the spoiler looks like :
Removal of every bolt and plastic pin that exist :
All bolts (M6 thread) and pins :
Wedge four steels pins in the bolt sockets :
Put freely the spoiler on the plexiglass and see where the wedged pins touch the glass. Put two layers of sponge tape on these regions. Then put the spoiler on, fit it with the glass and when you find the right position press the spoiler on the plexiglass, so that pins leave marks on the tape. These marks are the centers of the holes that you will drill in the next step! :
You can optionally measure the distances between centers and/or other points so that you will obtain absolut symmetry.
Drill the four holes ( i drilled first with a 3mm drill, then 7mm, then 12.5mm) :
Drill the two side holes :
Mount the spoiler. I have used four security M6 nuts, four washers, four thick rubber washers and silicone arround and inside the holes. This is how it looks under the plexi :
Result : Perfect fit and symmetry! Mission accomplished!!!
I will post more later!
