I have had a Megane for 3 years and I think it has been a great car. It has been fairly practical, but a bit too small to be comfortable in the back seat.
Most of all this was a very economical car. It cost me less than 2.50€/10 km, all inclusive. Then I also count new alloys, winter tyres and a second set of summer tyres (which is about 10% of the total cost I have had with this car).
As for quality it was not better or worse than most other cars, even though the build quality may be better in more expensive cars. It has seen its share of the dealers repairshop, but if the Megane Sport (225 hp petrol or 170 hp DCI) wasn't so damn expensive I would really consider to get one of those instead of a Civic.
