just dont open the door on a cyclist (with the mirrors folded in) or you will be facing a big bill of your insurance excess + damage to your door, and it will be your faulty.
if everything works before you start, what is the problem?

I'd assume that at somepoint the plastic sheeting between the door trim and the door would need moving and that somewhere along the line, there would be a break in the wiring to fit the new 'bits'??
You're quite right that sometimes this wont be noticed but if there is any investigation work done with regards to the electrical systems, it will be found.
I'm not knocking the idea but just wanted to point out what these amendments can do. Anyway, whats wrong with pressing the fold-in/fold-out button??
